Due to abundance of temples the town of Pushkar in called

Teerthaguru (KING OF PILGRIM CENTERS).....

The small town of Pushkar houses over 300 temples and 52 Ghats in Sarovar

Rigveda has mentioned 3,339 devatas (GODs), while Puranas have mentioned 330 Million Gods, Thus One can assume that there is one God on every three Hindus, (Considering About 900 Million Hindus on this Earth.

It is believed that Pushkar was one of the favorites places for Devatas (Gods) to visit,which is why a pantheon of Gods have made Pushkar their home.

Thus we can easily conclude that Pushkar was one of the hot spot in those days also.and why Pushkar is called as TeerthGuru
